REGISTRATION OPTIONS

  1. Online (if no discounts apply):  Choose the course you want from the Course Schedule above and click the session you wish to register for using MasterCard or Visa.  You will receive an e-mail as your only confirmation. 
    Please note:   When using corporate cards, "education" purchases must be allowed by the card.  Also, some cards require an approval code which can not be accepted by our system.  In both these circumstances the cardholder needs to contact their card-issuing bank to remove these controls.
  2. By Telephone: 610-565-9300 using MasterCard or Visa. Monday - Friday, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00.
  3. In Person:  Registrar's Office, Virtual Rush, 1145 W. Baltimore Pike, Media, Pa 19063  Monday - Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:15 p.m., or Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Please bring your completed Registration Form with you.  Payment can be made by Visa, MasterCard, check, or money order.
  4. By mail: Print out the Registration Form, include a check or money order payable to Virtual Rush LLC., and mail to: Virtual Rush, 1145 W. Baltimore Pike, Media, PA 19063.

  • If a student enrolls in more than one program, s/he will receive a 10% discount off all VideoGame.Net programs.
  • Multiple family members registering will receive a 10% discount.
  • Only one discount per enrollment.

Program Daily Procedures


Illness - Please call 610-565-9300 if your child is not able to attend class due to illness or any other circumstance.

Sign-in

  • Click here for directions
  • Students should arrive no earlier than one-half hour before their program starts.

Breaks / Lunch

  • Virtual Rush does not have a cafeteria or food service.
  •  Beverages and snack food are avaliable.
  • Students must bring their own lunch. 
  • Students will not be permitted to leave the store.
  • Students will be supervised during all breaks.

Sign-out

  • Pick students up within one-half hour after their program ends.
  • Students are not permitted to leave campus on their own.


Health concerns- If your child has specific health needs that require medication, please have the medicine in a bottle with your child name and dosage clearly marked.  This should be handed directly to the instructor.



Course Descriptions

Introduction to Game Design

The Introduction to 2D Game Design, Animation and Web Development class provides an exciting perspective on designing and developing flash-based games and videogame Web sites.

The program focuses on videogame development, animation, and Web design.  Students use HTML, Flash, Photoshop, and other computer software to develop games.  At the end of the two-week session, students have developed their own videogame and a mini Web site.

  • Gain the skills necessary to design and develop Web-based videogames!
  • Create with Macromedia Flash and Adobe graphic software packages!
  • Study the importance of both technology and art design in the development of games!
  • Become familiar with the history of the videogame and animation industries!

Prerequisites

Students should be comfortable using the Web and Internet and have a passion for videogames


Intermediate Game Design

The Intermediate 2D Game Design and Animation class provides an exciting perspective on developing skills with flash-based games and GameMaker.

The program focuses on VideoGame development and animation.  Students gain experience with Flash, Photoshop, and GameMaker software.  At the end of the two-week session, students have modified the videogame they created in the introductory class, adding animation and interactive artificial intelligence.  The students also begin developing a GameMaker videogame.

  • Refine the skills and tools necessary to design and develop Web-based videogames!
  • Receive advanced instruction using Macromedia Flash and Adobe graphic software packages for animation!
  • Gain knowledge in 2D computer animation techniques and GameMaker software!

Advanced Game Design

The Advanced 2D Game Design class refines skills with advanced 2D animation and GameMaker software.

The course focuses on 2D videogame development and animation. Students work with GameMaker software to develop a sophisticated 2D videogame. At the end of the 80-hour program, students have developed a new, original videogame with GameMaker software.

  • Master the design and development of 2D-based videogames!
  • Receive advanced instruction in the use of GameMaker software!
  • Apply advanced skills in 2D computer animation and game design by developing an original 2D videogame!

Sunday: noon - 6:00pm
